Saturday September 7th, 2024
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Opening Saturday, September 7th, "The Art of Everything: The Art and Science of June Wayne" showcases Wayne's lifelong exploration of the relationship between art and science. Her revolutionary work transformed printmaking and textiles while advocating for freedom of expression and the rightful inclusion of women and minorities in the art world. For the first time, June Wayne's monumental tapestry On Verra, commissioned by KCET and generously loaned by PBS SoCal will make its public premiere at FMC. Presented in conjunction with the Getty's Pacific Standard Time initiative, the exhibition reveals the full breadth of Wayne's interdisciplinary contributions and the global intersections of art and science. The exhibit opens with a reception on Saturday, September 7, from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Attendees can learn about the inspiration behind the exhibit, and engage in discussions about science and art with collectors and curators. The evening will also include live entertainment, a specialty bar, and a curator’s talk. Admission is $10 for Museum Members and $20 for the general public. VIP Reception starts at 5:30 pm with a preview, light appetizers and desserts, and (2) drink tickets. VIP Admission is $50 general, and $25 for Museum Members.
